FOR US CLINICIANS
A new step forward for personalized pessary care in the US
Effective January 1, 2027, the physician work of preparing a patient-specific 3D-printed component — including a personalized Gynethotics™ pessary — is reportable under CPT® Category III codes.

This is the first formal step onto the US reimbursement pathway for personalized pessaries. It recognizes, in the US coding system, the clinical work that goes into a patient-specific vaginal device. Below is what changed, what it covers, and what it doesn't.
What changed
The American Medical Association's 2027 CPT code set revised the codes used to report patient-specific 3D-printed components. The revised language now covers a patient-specific anatomic model or structure printed from a patient's image or anatomical data — which is exactly what a personalized Gynethotics™ pessary is. That means that, as of January 1, 2027, US physicians can report the personalization work on a claim using these codes.
The codes
0559T
Patient-specific anatomic model or structure 3D-printed from image or anatomical data set(s); first individually prepared and processed component.
+0560T
Each additional individually prepared and processed component (reported in addition to 0559T).
0559T covers the first prepared component; 0560T is an add-on code reported for each additional component. Your billing team should confirm application to your specific case.
What these codes do — and don't — cover
They cover:
The physician's professional work of preparing the patient-specific design of the 3D-printed component.
They don't cover:
The device itself, and they don't cover pelvic floor physical therapy or other services. These are physician-work codes, not device payment of PT codes.
What "Category III" means
Category III codes are how the AMA tracks emerging, clinically relevant services. Being reportable is meaningful — it's how real-world use gets documented and how the pathway toward broader coverage begins. But it's important to be precise about what this milestone is:
-
A code lets a claim be submitted. It does not guarantee coverage for the service.
-
Coverage and payment decisions are made by individual payers.
-
Category III codes are temporary by design and are reviewed over time.
We'll keep this page current as the pathway develops.
CPT® is a registered trademark of the American Medical Association. CPT Category III codes 0559T and 0560T take effect January 1, 2027. Assignment of a CPT code does not guarantee coverage or payment; coverage and payment decisions are made by individual payers. These codes describe physician work and do not represent payment for the device or for physical therapy services. This information is provided for general awareness and is not billing, coding, or legal advice; providers are responsible for correct coding based on the services they deliver.
